Bison Hold Off Central Bible 96-87

Oklahoma Baptist shot 67 percent from the field in the second half and needed almost every one of those makes in a 96-87 win over Central Baptist College Friday night.
After missing their first 10 three-pointers of the second half, the Mustangs hit two to pull within seven points of OBU, but the Bison hit their last four free throws to keep CBC at bay.
The Bison were 18-of-27 from the field in the second half and canned four of their six three-pointers.
After four lead changes in the first seven minutes of the game used a 21-2 run, spurred by nine points from Robert Hart, to take a 30-13 lead with 6:29 left in the half.
Central clawed the lead back down to 32-23 on a 10-2 stretch and OBU finished the half with a 45-33 advantage.
The Mustangs outscored OBU 54-51 in the second half and got its biggest boost scoring after offensive rebounds. CBC and 18 offensive caroms and turned those into 21 points.
Hart led OBU with 21 points and he also had seven rebounds. Frank Benson, in his first start, collected 17 points and had seven boards. Bailey Jones had a perfect shooting night, hitting all five of his field goal attempts and all six of his free throws for 16 points. Andrew Bryant had 12 points and Leonard Mosley had 10.
Martin Stringer led the CBC effort with 18 points.
The Bison, 6-1, will play at 6 p.m. Saturday against No. 15 Houston Baptist.
