Bison Blow Off Jarvis Christian
November 13, 2004
For the second consecutive game, Oklahoma Baptist's Bison shelled its opponent in the first half and coasted to an easy win as Jarvis Christian lost OBU's Homecoming game 82-66.
The Bison pelted the Bulldogs in the first half 44-24 on 58.6 percent shooting, including five three-pointers in 12 attempts, and limited Jarvis Christian to 25 field goal tries before halftime.
But the Bison were out-scored 42-38 in the second half, allowing a number of lay-ups and allowing JCC to shoot 58.8 percent in the second half.
Jarvis Christian trimmed OBU's lead to 10 points twice in the second half, but the Bison responded to each challenge.
Robert Hart led the Bison with 22 points, followed by Leonard Mosley with 13, Justin Benson and Mike Fraser with 11 each and Frank Benson with 10.
OBU prospered at the free throw line, hitting 22 of 27 attempts for 81.5 percent. Justin Benson was 7-of-8 and Hart was 5-of-6 at the line.
The Bison out-rebounded Jarvis 29-27, fueled by Mosley's game-high seven caroms.
OBU, now 3-1, will host Messenger College Friday at 7 p.m.
