Bison Baseball Ranked in Preseason Poll
November 17, 2004
Oklahoma Baptist University's baseball team will open the season in February as the No. 21 team in the nation.
The NAIA released its preseason poll Tuesday with the Bison included as one of six teams to move into the Top 25 after being left out of last season's final poll.
OBU went on to finish second in the SAC Tournament and third in the Region VI Tournament. The team returns four position players, three starting pitchers and its closer from last season.
Region VI also boasts No. 2 Oklahoma City and No. 11 Houston Baptist. Lubbock Christian received votes (35th in poll points). Those were the only four team from the region, which covers Texas, Oklahoma and parts of Arkansas and New Mexico.
The Bison finished the season at 36-25 last season.
