September 27, 2004
The Soldiers of Light, a select vocal ensemble from Hawaii Baptist Academy, will perform at Oklahoma Baptist University at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 4, in Yarborough Auditorium.
The group will also perform at OBU's chapel service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, in Raley Chapel's Potter Auditorium.
The Soldiers of Light have existed since 1991 to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. In Hawaii, the group has established a strong reputation for professionalism and excellence in music ministry. These high school students are selected for SOL based on their Christian witness and vocal ability. Throughout the year, they are prepared spiritually and musically to worship and proclaim the gospel in a manner worthy of their calling as followers of Christ.
Hula Halau `o Kama Lama Ula combines Christian music with the traditional Hawaiian dance to bring glory to God in a beautiful, powerful way. These young women from HBA minister as graceful ambassadors for Christ.
Hawaii Baptist Academy is a 55-year old K-12 college preparatory school begun by Southern Baptist missionaries. The school has just over 1,000 students.
