OBU Women Place Third at OCU Golf Classic

Lady Bison freshman Maggie Cole shot a 74 Tuesday to lead Oklahoma Baptist University to third place in the nine-team Oklahoma City University Women's Fall Classic at Lincoln Park Golf Course.
Cole had the best outing of all golfers in the second round after shooting an 80 in the opening round Monday. In doing so, Cole bucked a trend on her team. After a first round team score of 326, OBU ballooned to 341 in the second round.
Jennifer Mann was among the leaders with a first round 75 and ended 12th with a 162 for the tournament. Ellen Vaske was 27th at 175, Amber McMurry was 31st at 179 and Brittany Brooks was 33rd at 182.
OCU won the tournament with a 625 team score, followed by Southern Nazarene at 638, OBU at 667, Redlands at 674, Northwood at 680, Arkansas Tech at 687, Seminole State at 767, Southwestern Kansas at 778 and St. Gregory's at 795.
OBU returns to action Oct. 3-5 at the SNU Classic.
