Bison Golfers 13th at UC Ferguson Classic

Despite a strong final round, Oklahoma Baptist University's golf team finished 13th in the 17-team U.C. Ferguson All-State Classic hosted by Oklahoma City University at Twin Hills Country Club Tuesday.
OBU completed the three-round tournament with a 951 despite four golfers turning in sub-80 rounds on the final round. Russell Kern shot a 77 on Tuesday, while Mark Richards, Robert Byaruhunga and Jason Carpenter all recorded 78s.
Josh Bryan led the overall effort for OBU with a 51st-place 237, with Richards two strokes back. Byaruhunga shot a 241, followed by Kern at 242 and Carpenter at 243.
OCU won the event at 869, followed by Southern Methodist JV at 893, Southern Nazarene at 894, Texas Wesleyan at 896, Northwood and 898, St. Ambrose at 899, Point Loma Nazarene at 910, OCU JV at 911, Wayland Baptist at 926, Oklahoma Christian JV at 927, Seminole State at 934, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M at 942, OBU at 951, Tabor at 953, Bethany College at 955, SNU JV at 956 and Southwestern Kansas at 958.
Next action for OBU will be Southwestern Kansas Oct. 11.
