Lady Bison Add Six to Softball Team

Oklahoma Baptist University's softball team added six players over the last few weeks in preparation for the 2004-05 academic season.
New Lady Bison include Sandralina Rones, Cathy Nitz, Catherine Eimen, Melissa Martinez, Allison Ramzy and Ashley Howard.
Rones, a junior from Pittsburg, Calif., was a second-team All-Conference shortstop at Diablo Valley Junior College.
Eimen, a native of Mannford, is a freshman outfielder. She was a two-time All-Conference and All-Region selection as well as valedictorian of her senior class. She was named an Oklahoma Scholar Athlete.
Ramzy, an incoming freshman, was first-team All-State at Prestonwood Christian School in Plano, Texas. She batted .756 and clouted six home runs.
Howard, a freshman from Garden Grove Santiago High School, batted .403 for the season with two home runs. The utility player-pitcher also posted a 6-3 pitching record with a 1.09 earned run average.
Martinez, a junior infielder, transfers from Palomar College, where she helped the Comets to a 19th consecutive conference title.
Nitz, a junior first baseman, comes to OBU from Bartlesville, by way of Seminole State College, where she was an All-Region II selection. The powerful lefthander led the team to a 44-15 record. She also was a President's Honor Roll student at SSC.
