Bison Add Welborn to Men’s Basketball Team

Oklahoma Baptist University added a second Welborn to its basketball rosters for the 2004-05 season. Meeker senior Kyle Welborn, a 5-11 guard, signed to play basketball at Oklahoma Baptist University Monday. His sister, Kelli, is a guard on the OBU women's basketball team.

A multi-sport standout at Meeker, Welborn averaged 12.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists on his way to Most Valuable Player honors in the 66 Conference.

He was a three-time All-Conference pick and led the Bulldogs to two consecutive state tournament appearances. He also is no stranger to the Noble Complex, having been a four-time selection to the All-OBU Tournament team.
