University Chorale to Perform at FBC Shawnee May 7

The University Chorale, Oklahoma Baptist University's mixed chorus, will perform its concert, "A Spring of Psalms" at First Baptist Church in Shawnee, May 7.
The 7:30 p.m. concert will include music by Gibbons, Peeters, Chesnokov and others.
"Featured on the concert will be the dynamic duo Lindsey Doolin and Keri Berman with a duet from 'Cosi Fan Tutte,' and a special musical quintet singing music from 'Carmen,'" said Dr. Bonnie Borshay Sneed, the Chorale's new director.
Sneed, associate professor of choral music at OBU, joined the faculty last fall. A 1984 graduate of Furman University, Sneed earned her master of music in choral conducting in 1985 from Southern Methodist University. She earned doctor of musical arts degree in choral conducting from Michigan State University in 1990.
Since 1991, Sneed has served as associate professor of music and director of choral activities at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. There she conducted the Concert Choir, Alumni and Friends Chorale, Chamber Choir, Tenor-Bass Chorale, Women's Choir and Collegium Orchestra.
She has written a number of choral arrangements and articles and has been active as a clinician and adjudicator.
