Gruett to Perform in Faculty Recital Feb. 5

Dr. Jon Gruett, associate professor of music at Oklahoma Baptist University, will perform in faculty recital at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 5, in Raley Chapel's Yarborough Auditorium.
Gruett, a tenor, joined the OBU faculty in 2000. He holds a doctor of musical arts degree from the University of Washington at Seattle, a master's degree from the University of Indiana and a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska.
Assisting Gruett will be Rhetta Hudson, soprano; Elizabeth Gruett, alto; Jack Pearson, tenor; John Simons, tenor; and Keith Whitmore, pianist.
The program is sectioned into two groups -- Songs of and from the British Isles and Songs of Cole Porter. Gruet will perform works by Thomas Morley, Ralph Vaughn Williams, Percy Grainger, Benjamin Britten and Cole Porter.
