Curtain Rises on OBU Theatre Season Aug. 28 with W;T

W;T, a play by Margaret Edson, will open the Oklahoma Baptist University theatre season Aug. 28 in Craig-Dorland Theatre located in Shawnee Hall.
The play runs Aug. 28-29 and Sept. 4-5 at 7:30 p.m. A 2:30 p.m. matinee will wrap up the production on Sept. 7. For ticket information, call 878-2347.
W;T presents Vivian Bearing (Twila Johnson), a renowned professor of English who is diagnosed with terminal cancer. A scholar of John Donne's metaphysical sonnets, Vivian comes to reassess her life and work with a profundity and humor that is transforming both for her and the audience.
The cast also includes Joshua Gibson as Jason Posner, Christy Hall as Susie Monahan, John Simons as Dr. Kelekian, and Ramona Farthing as E.M. Ashford.
OBU also will present The Pirates of Penzance by W.S. Gilbert with music by Arthur Sullivan, Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 2, 8-9 at 2:30 p.m.
The annual Theatre for Young People will feature Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn by Rita Grauer and John Urquhart Feb. 27-28 and March 5-7 at 7:30 p.m.
A Shayna Maidel wraps up the season April 22-24 and April 30-May 1 at 7:30 p.m. and at 2:30 p.m. on May 2.
Additionally, in Sarkeys Studio Theatre, the College Players will present "An Evening of Entertainment" Nov. 21-22 at 7:30 p.m., and the University Concert Series and the OBU Theatre Department will co-sponsor "Live at the Black Box" at 9 p.m. on Sept. 19, Nov. 14, Feb. 13 and March 26.
