Argo Named to New OBU Post
August 4, 2003
Trent Argo, director of admissions at Campbellsville University since 1991, has been named to fill the new position of dean of enrollment management at Oklahoma Baptist University.
Argo will be primarily responsible for both recruiting and retention of students. He will oversee the academic center, admissions, and student financial services operations, and will report to Dr. Jim Colman, senior vice president for academic affairs.
"Trent is filling a critical new post. Working closely with our faculty and staff, he will help further the mission of Oklahoma Baptist University," said OBU President Mark Brister.
Argo, as director of admissions at Campbellsville, was the chief enrollment officer for the university. He has worked in the admissions office at CU since 1989 and established the university's first student ambassador program, which resulted in an 86 percent enrollment rate of student visitors to the campus. During his 14 years at Campbellsville, enrollment has increased 173 percent.
He graduated from Campbellsville with a bachelor's degree in 1988 and earned a master of education degree from CU in 1999.
"A broad range of experiences with varied aspects of the enrollment process, and his proven management abilities will serve Trent well in his role as OBU's dean of enrollment management," said Brister.
