Master of etiquette Gloria Auth, founder and director of Protocol Plus, will speak to Oklahoma Baptist University students about poise, polish, and professionalism Monday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m.
The public is invited to attend "How to Dine Like a Diplomat" in the university's Bailey Business Center. The forum will give students a virtual tour of proper etiquette at a business luncheon, including proper use of silverware and manners.
Auth teaches etiquette and protocol intelligence in seminars and individual courses around the country. She specializes in corporate and social etiquette, world-class dining, tea and etiquette, techno-etiquette and international protocol.
Senior business majors and students enrolled in certain business classes will also participate in her "Business and Social Etiquette: First Impressions Count" seminar, covering proper introductions and small talk. Students also will take part in a luncheon to practice techniques learned in the earlier seminars.
Auth was the director of the master of business administration program at the University of Central Oklahoma for 22 years. She also served the students as Sponsor for UCO Toastmasters International from 1989-01.
She received recognition from the university during her time there, including UCO Sponsor of the Year, Above and Beyond President's Club Award, Advanced Toastmaster Silver Award, and the 2002 Golden Web Award.
She is a graduate of The Protocol School of Washington and received bachelor and master's degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma.
