Call for Auditions in OBU’s Our Town

The theatre department at Oklahoma Baptist University will host open auditions for the role of Stage Manager in their upcoming spring production of the great American classic Our Town, February 20 and 21. Those people interested in the part are welcome to attend auditions from 7-9 p.m. in Yarborough Auditorium in the university's Raley Chapel. They should attend both nights of auditions.
The Stage Manager is a principal role. Ideally, actors interested in this role are ages 40 to 70.
Actors will be asked to read previously selected monologues and scenes taken from the play. Scripts are available on reserve in OBU's Mabee Learning Center. Specific audition information is available on the callboard in Sarkeys Telecommunication Center or by calling Dr. Joyce Aldridge, OBU assistant professor of theatre, at 878-2369.
Rehearsals will begin with a first read-through on Sunday, Feb. 24, from 2:30-5 p.m. Standard rehearsal times will be Monday through Friday evenings from 7-10 p.m. The role of the Stage Manager will require significant rehearsal time.
There will no rehearsals during OBU's Spring Break, March 18-22.
Our Town will open at OBU April 18 and will continue with performances April 19, 20, 26, 27 and end with a final matinee performance Sunday, April 28.
