OBU Homecoming Chapel Honors Alumni

Oklahoma Baptist University alumni will re-live an OBU tradition Saturday morning with the Homecoming Chapel service.
The program will include recognition of the 12 Profile in Excellence Award recipients for 2001. Dr. Michael Prince, a 1971 OBU graduate and pastor of Robertsville Park Baptist Church in Oak Ridge, Tenn., will deliver the Homecoming chapel message. Following the service, the Profile in Excellence Award recipients will be honored at a reception in the Helen Thames Raley Parlor, on the west side of Raley Chapel.
Prior to moving to Robertsville Park Baptist Church, Prince was the pastor of churches in Memphis, Tenn., and San Diego, Calif.
Prince earned M.Div. and D.Min. degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, the former Brenda Dooley, class of '71, have three children, Benjamin, John David, and Kristin Michelle.
The Profile in Excellence Award winners are Paul Eyer, class of '80, an attorney from Harrisburg, Pa.; Dr. Russell Gregory, class of '70, professor of religious studies at Radford University, Va.; Bill Gwartney, class of '67, president and CEO of LifeCare Health Services Inc. and senior vice president/executive officer of VHA/Oklahoma and Arkansas; J. David Hill, class of '80, producer of FamilyNet, Fort Worth, Texas; Dr. Frank and Beverly (Johnson) Lewis, class of '48 and ex '55, retired missionaries to Indonesia, now from Okmulgee; Pam Furgerson Malloy, class of '74, education coordinator for oncology/HIV, medicine, general surgery and bone marrow transplant at George Washington University Hospital, Springfield, Va.; Dr. Rebecca Jane Edge Martin, class of '69, physician and associate professor of medicine,University of Arkansas Medical School, Little Rock, Ark.; Rev. Jesse Moore, class of '80, pastor, Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Dr. Caiphas Nziramasanga, class of '73, director, Teaching and Learning Center, University of Zimbabwe and education consultant, UNESCO, Harare, Zimbabwe; Mary Ann Landrum Stephens, class of '79, music associate, South Tulsa Baptist Church; and Judge Jeff Work, class of '84, judge, 189th Civil District Court Harris County, Texas.
