The OBU yearbook, the Yahnseh, has been named as a 2000 Yearbook Pacemaker Finalist, the highest award given by the Associated Collegiate Press.
This is the sixth Pacemaker nomination for the Yahnseh since OBU assistant professor of journalism Anne Hammond has been the adviser. The 1997 and 1998 OBU yearbooks were both awarded Pacemakers.
Only twelve yearbooks nation-wide were named as finalists. The publications were judged on theme, opening development, writing, design, coverage and photography.
The twelve schools selected were: OBU, Indiana University, University of Virginia, University of Evansville, Kansas State University, Murray State University, University of Michigan, Texas A&M, James Madison University, University of Wisconsin, Pittsburg State University and Ouachita Baptist University.
All Pacemaker finalists will be honored at the Associated Collegiate Press and College Media Advisers National Collegiate Media Convention awards ceremony in New Orleans, October 27, 2001.
