OBU Music Students Place in District Competition

Five Oklahoma Baptist University music majors took home first, second and third place finishes during the finals of the Oklahoma District National Association of Teachers of Singing contest at the University of Central Oklahoma, March 31.
Twenty-one OBU music students entered the competition and nine students made the finals.
Chris Campbell from Broken Arrow received first place in the junior men's division and Randy Umstead from Olathe, Kan., was first in the senior men's division. Both are students of OBU associate professor of music Rhetta Hudson.
Jesse Graver from Wagoner, a student of Norma Partridge, OBU associate professor of music, received second place in the junior men's division, and Laura Norton from Amarillo, Texas, student of Hudson, received second place in the senior women's division.
Aaron Robertson from Three Rivers, Calif., received third place in the sophomore men's division. He is a student of Don Clark, OBU assistant professor of music.
