OBU Welcomes New Nursing Faculty

Oklahoma Baptist University has named Martha Hernandez assistant professor of nursing.
Hernandez, who holds two OBU degrees, had been an adjunct faculty member at Southern Nazarene University and the University of Central Oklahoma in the fall of 2000.
"Martha's specialties are medical-surgical nursing and psychiatric-mental health nursing," said Lana Bolhouse, dean of OBU's school of nursing. "We are excited about her outstanding abilities as she becomes a member of the nursing faculty team."
She earned a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from OBU in 1979 and a bachelor of science degree in nursing in 1981.
In conjunction with earning a master of science degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1999, Hernandez worked at Red Rock Mental Health Center, Mission Hill Hospital, Baptist Counseling Associates and OBU.
She also worked at Advanced Mental Health Care L.C., Shawnee Regional Hospital, Shawnee Regional Home Health, Oak Crest Psychiatric Hospital, and Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City.
She has served as an independent contractor with Baptist Counseling Associates since 1999.
