Bison Glee Club to Present “Spectacular”
April 6, 2000
Oklahoma Baptist University's Bison Glee Club will present "Spectacular 2003: Bison Glee Club Does Western Civilization" at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, April 25-26, in Raley Chapel's Yarborough Auditorium on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University.
Written, produced and choreographed by student leaders, the show is a musical journey through Western Civilization as seen through the eyes of a college students cramming for a Western Civilization final exam.
Act I takes the audience from a lowly classroom to the realms of Dante's Inferno, the Gladiators' Arena, Robin Hood's Forest, the "Roommate Adventures of Martin Luther and John Calvin," the set of American Idol, and ends with a study session that features "Cool" from West Side Story.
Act II opens with the Beatles' "Blackbird," takes guests back to the classroom via "Schoolhouse Rock," journeys to the French Revolution, and the American Civil War, then lands in the 1960s.
The humorous journey through history is designed for the entire student body, any person who has ever taken a history or civ class, families, and all people in the community.
Tickets are $5, and can be purchased from any Bison Glee Club member, or in advance by calling the OBU Fine Arts Office at 878-2305.
Although tickets will be available at the door, the BGC Spectacular is usually a sold-out event. Please purchase tickets in advance.
