Focus Week to Examine Living in Biblical Community

Oklahoma Baptist University students will take part in a time of winter bible study during the university's Marriage and Family Emphasis Focus Week, Feb.23-25.
Hance Dilbeck, pastor of First Baptist Church, Ponca City and OBU graduate, is scheduled as the speaker for Focus Week.
The theme of the week is "Living in Biblical Community." He will be dealing with the subjects of family, friendship, and church.
Focus week activities begin Tuesday evening, Feb 23 at 7 p.m. with a message from Dilbeck at the Baptist Collegiate Ministry's CORE meeting. He will also speak at Wednesday and Friday chapel services at 10 a.m., Feb. 23 and 25.
He and his wife Julie will speak together on Thursday, Feb 24 at a noonday service and a special Thursday night service at 7 p.m. Both of the Thursday services will be held in the university's Montgomery Hall.
Dilbeck, a Pawhuska native, received his bachelor's degree from OBU in 1987, and a master's of divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1992. He plans to complete work on his doctorate within the year.
Dilbeck has served as pastor of First Baptist, Ponca City since 1997.
Prior to that, he served as youth minister of First Baptist Church, Shawnee, and as a pastor of Little City Baptist Church, Little City, First Baptist Church, Snyder, and First Baptist Church, Noble.
He has served on the Board of Directors for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, and is currently serving on the Board of Trustees for OBU. He has been a camp pastor for children's week at Falls Creek for two years, and a pastor for the Muskogee Association children's camp.
The Dilbecks have three boys, D.H., Dax and Leighton.
