Advanced Clinical Educator Perks

At Oklahoma Baptist University, we view preceptors as essential partners in shaping the next generation of PAs, and we are dedicated to honoring the role they play. Preceptors who commit to training OBU PA students, and who meet the program's eligibility requirements, receive a courtesy faculty appointment we call Advanced Clinical Educator status, along with meaningful benefits in return for their partnership.

To qualify as an Advanced Clinical Educator, preceptors are asked to:

  • Maintain board certification or equivalent, appropriate hospital or practice site privileges, and an unrestricted license to practice in the state where clinical training occurs.
  • Precept OBU students for a minimum of two rotations or 10+ weeks out of the calendar year. This requirement can be flexed if the program does not need two rotations or more than 10 weeks from a preceptor in a given year.
  • Provide feedback to OBU on student performance via student evaluations.

In appreciation of this partnership, Advanced Clinical Educators enjoy the following benefits:

  • Library access to OBU.
  • Discounts on CME and professional networking events offered through OBU.
  • Opportunities for teaching skill development and support.
  • OBU RAWC Workout Facility use.
  • Discounts at OBU Campus Store and local retailers.
  • Free attendance at OBU events offered to faculty (athletic contests, fine arts performances, etc.).
  • Printed wall certificate and permission to use Advanced Clinical Educator title in personal CV and published information and/or bio.
