Discover Esports!

OBU's Recreational and Wellness Center is home to the Brant and Leslie Hill Esports Arena which provides high-end equipment and a dedicated space for team activities as well as recreational play for the general student population.

Launched in Fall 2024 as a component of OBU's Club Sports program, OBU’s Esports program offers students a competitive and engaging gaming environment. Led by a driven coach, the program focuses on skill development, teamwork, and strategic growth.

Students compete in popular titles like Overwatch 2, League of Legends, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros. Club teams practice regularly and participate in the Great American Conference (GAC).  Student leadership plays a key role in competitive play with captains helping to guide team development and success. Whether students are looking to compete at a high level or simply connect through gaming, the OBU Esports program provides a strong foundation for growth and opportunities to become a future shaper through collegiate gaming.

Competitive Games

Each game offers unique challenges, from fast-paced fighting and high-speed teamwork to strategic and coordinated team play. These titles give students opportunities to compete and develop their skills in collegiate esports, with more games being added in the future. OBU’s Esports program currently competes in six different games: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, Rocket League, Splatoon and Guilty Gear: Strive.

Recreational Games

In addition to competitive teams, OBU Esports offers a variety of recreational opportunities for students to enjoy gaming in a relaxed, social setting. Open play sessions, casual tournaments, and gaming nights allow students of all skill levels to connect, have fun, and build community. These activities provide a welcoming space where anyone can experience the excitement of Esports without the pressure of competition.
