Black Box Theatre
OBU’s Black Box Theatre offers a variety of opportunities for you to foster creativity and dramatic expression through its unique and versatile design. The theatre is the primary venue for mainstage productions and classroom showcases. It is often used as a key practice and performance space.
Scene Shop
The Scene Shop is a flexible classroom and production space that teaches you technical aspects of theatre production. You will gain practical hands-on experiences in painting, lighting, props, artistic design, and the construction of sets.
Costume Shop
In our costume shop, students learn a wide range of skills related to the design, creation, and maintenance of costumes for theatrical productions. This is valuable workspace where costumes, hair and makeup are carefully crafted for OBU productions.
Studio
In our Division of Communication Arts, you will utilize a large studio space to enhance your learning experiences. You will gain practical hands-on experience in this modern and versatile studio that features state-of-the art equipment and technology. The studio offers an immersive learning environment for video production, photography, news broadcasts and related projects.
Audio Suites
Students gain experience in recording, editing and mixing voice and sound in our two modern and acoustically-controlled audio suites. Working with industry-standard equipment, you gain the professional skills needed for audio production through practical hands-on training.
Mac Labs
In a technically-driven world, computers and cutting-edge software are crucial for success in communication arts. Our two Mac labs are equipped with iMacs and Adobe Creative Cloud where students create, design, innovate and produce unique and compelling work that contribute to all aspects of communication.
In our lab spaces, Communication Arts students imagine, create, perform, and deliver through personal expression. From the initial spark of an idea to the fading and final embers of one's work, learning is an amazing journey at OBU.
