Bison Pact

FREE tuition and general student fees for qualifying first-time freshmen and transfer students

You shouldn’t have to choose between an affordable education and a Christ-centered university experience. The Bison Pact was created to help Oklahoma students pursue both. If you qualify for Oklahoma’s Promise, OBU will cover your remaining tuition and general student fees after scholarships and aid are applied — making Bison Hill more accessible for families across Oklahoma.

How the Bison Pact Works

Getting started is simple. If you qualify for Oklahoma’s Promise, OBU can help bridge the gap between your aid package and the cost of tuition and general student fees.

1. Apply to OBU

Getting started is simple. Complete your application for admission to OBU, and submit your high school transcript and test scores. Once you apply, our admissions team will help guide you through each next step along the way.

2. Be Admitted

After you apply, our team will review your application materials and work with you to complete your admission file. Be sure to check your email regularly and stay connected with your admissions counselor in case any additional information is needed

3. File Your FAFSA

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine your eligibility for additional financial assistance. Even if you’re unsure whether you’ll qualify, submitting the FAFSA is an important step. Once we receive your results, we can finalize your financial aid package and confirm your eligibility for the Bison Pact.

Important Eligibility Information

Each year you’ll need to file the FAFSA to maintain your eligibility.

This offer is only available to first-time freshmen and transfer students for Fall 2024 and beyond who are eligible to receive Oklahoma's Promise.

Additional Requirements

  • Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress and file a FAFSA each year.
  • Aid is based on full-time enrollment of 15 hours per semester. Due to Oklahoma's Promise being a per hour scholarship, students enrolling in fewer than 15 hours will receive a reduced amount.
  • Enrolled hours must count towards the student's degree to qualify for Oklahoma's Promise and other state or federal aid. The Bison Pact amount will not be increased to offset any federal or state aid lost for the student enrolling in hours which do not count towards the student's program of study.
  • OBU will cover tuition and general fees. (General fees include student services, technology and student life fees.)
  • Aid is provided for Fall and Spring semesters only.
  • The Bison Pact is available beginning Fall 2024 for first-time freshmen and transfer students.
  • Athletes are not eligible for the Bison Pact if they are receiving athletic aid.
